Most everything West of Wood River has only been around for the last ten years. New houses are being built all the time, but there are still a lot of woods, fields and open places you can go to. A lot of times my detective adventures take me to different places off the beaten path.

The thing to notice on the map is that Wood River is running into Sparrow Lake. But the lake never overflows, because the river is really going underground, which causes there to be a lot of springs everywhere.  Sometimes they just pop up overnight in places that were safe the day before. And so when you get springs popping up all over the place without warning,
you get things like deep mud pits and quicksand - places that I call Trouble Spots.

But at least Trouble Spots stay where they are.  There's a whole lot of other things going on in Greendale that show up when you don't expect them, and what might start out as an adventure I think I can figure out can get weirder and weirder until it's like being in the middle of a horror or science fiction movie.

That's the thing about Greendale.  It looks like any other town until you go snooping around.  And then . . .  watch out.
